Ricardo José studied magic with close up Master Magician Ryan Blumenthal and has since continued his training with aids from world class Master Magicians such as Jay Sankey, Michael Ammar, Daryl, David Copperfield, David Blaine, David Stone, Richard Osterlind, Finn Jon, Derren Brown, Gregory Wilson, Jeff Hobson, Guy Bavli, Richard Sanders, Oz Pearlman, Tabary, Rudy Hunter, Tom Mullica, David Acer and more....

He has performed in various private and corporate functions in South Africa, and Mozambique and also for members of the SIAM Magic Society in Bangkok. Amongst the various private functions that he entertained at, during 2004 he performed regularly at the Floundry Fly Lounge in Pretoria East, and entertained the personnel of the Pretoria Investec branch at their end of year 2004 function at the Jambulaya Lounge, Pretoria East, and the crowd at the Lions Festival 2004 in Portshepstone (with Mr. D from The Green Lizard Circus School). In August 2005 he also performed at the famous restaurant in Pietermaritzburg, Caribe Caribe.

Ricardo José enjoys the entertainment world and likes to astonish his spectators with little miracles that happen right in front of their eyes, in their minds and in their hands. He uses a combination of sleight of hand magic and also mentalism, the art of cold reading, human psychology and principles of suggestion.

He walks around at your function interacting with the guests (known as strolling magic) and making sure that they will never forget this experience. In his act he uses coins, notes, cards, silks, cigarettes, rings, pens, spoons and basically any other objects at his disposable for some great impromptu magic...also he might just even take your watch and give it back to you as a surprise!

Ultimately is his underground mental magic where not only does he through sense predict your selections of cards form a normal deck but also can thru psychology get you to find the card that he is thinking of...He also bends spoons and causes small objects to levitate such as notes, straws and even his or your glasses...a great effect is the one where he gets a spectator to select a card and through a demonstration of hypnotic relaxation he shows the power of suggestion and gets the spectator to confuse or even forget the remembered card.

Originally from Pretoria, currently Ricardo is in the United Kingdom due to occupational commitments.
